SUMMARY
Drafting Lead designs projects from concept through design completion. Work with project managers/customers to develop project design scope. Provide models, drawings, cut files, bills of materials, purchased item lists, and other associated project documents to PM’s/customers. Ensure all project documents are stored properly on the server in respective job folders. Work through the revision and approval process with PM’s/customers and document revisions as needed. Perform constructability reviews with PM’s and other shop personnel, to ensure products are designed with shop capabilities in mind. Assist the shop, and PM’s, with design related questions. Perform a quality check before equipment is shipped to its final location.

1. Create and store project documents on the server using current filing methodology
2. Assist in developing and following project workflows, design processes, and drafting standards
3. Field measure existing equipment and/or utilities for design concept
4. Keep personal workstation and software up to date 5. Assist in identifying and correcting challenges between design and fabrication process
6. Participate in a weekly workload meeting
7. Assist in the continuous improvement initiatives related to the design department
8. Drive a vehicle to various jobsites throughout working hours
a. Maintain valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy
9. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
10. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance
11. Perform other duties as assigned
ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Work environment varies from normally a climate-controlled building to a project site that may be in any stage of completion. The project work environment will have exposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
Operates office machinery including computers, calculator, and photocopier.
Requires manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer and calculator, stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, and mobility to complete errands or deliveries.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry/move up to 20lbs
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Must be able to perform repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms; moving materials and manipulating things
Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities
Must be able to work in a team environment
Ability to communicate clearly with other employees
JOB DESCRIPTION

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with other employees.
Proficiency in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Ability to complete daily tasks with limited supervision and minimal errors requiring re-work
Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
