SQL Database Administrator

Proven expertise in managing complex SQL Server infrastructures, supporting data warehouse architectures, and ensuring database reliability, security, and scalability across cloud and on-premises platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server environments in both on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructures.
  • Perform SQL Server patching, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance to ensure system stability and security compliance.
  • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and business continuity.
  • Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks through advanced tuning techniques.
  • Optimize ETL processes and reporting queries to improve performance and scalability of enterprise data solutions.
  • Support enterprise data warehouse environments, including schema design, indexing strategies, and storage optimization.
  • Manage database replication technologies to ensure reliable data movement across systems and environments.
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support database-related initiatives and enhancements.
  • Maintain database documentation including data models, ER diagrams, and data dictionaries.
  • Provide on-call support for production database environments and troubleshoot critical issues as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements in database architecture, automation, and monitoring tools.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor for database best practices and performance standards.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Experience supporting data warehouse platforms and BI/reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in deadline-driven environments.
