The Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation and optimization of IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on servers, storage solutions, backup systems, enterprise email platforms, and various cloud technologies. This position involves evaluating and enhancing current systems, developing and deploying automation strategies, and ensuring the organization's IT environment maintains high performance, robust security, and scalable capabilities to support ongoing growth.
Responsibilities
Implement IT infrastructure solutions that support organizational growth and scalability.
Optimize server environments, including virtualized and cloud-based systems.
Manage enterprise backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and readiness for recovery.
Oversee enterprise email platforms, enforcing security and reliability best practices.
Implement automation solutions to improve system management and efficiency.
Perform capacity planning and performance analysis to identify optimization opportunities.
Enhance system security through hardening strategies and compliance enforcement.
Assist with software installations, updates, and patching to maintain system stability.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting software and hardware issues across the infrastructure.
Collaborate with the IT team to drive improvements and implement new technologies.
Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including system configurations and policies.
Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed and monitor for potential security risks.
Work in various settings, including climate-controlled offices and casino floors, which may involve exposure to second-hand smoke and crowd noise.
Engage in physical activities, including lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Travel as needed, including overnight stays.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, combined with 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, administration, or IT infrastructure management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent are preferred.
Proven experience with Windows Server, Linux, email platforms (e.g., Exchange, Microsoft 365), and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with email security protocols like DKIM, SPF, and DMARC.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with performance monitoring and system automation tools.
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Experience with automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
Excellent communication skills, highly organized, and able to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated, positive, with a "can-do" approach and a strong team player.
Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.
